|My Dear Abbasi, |
I am very grateful to you for your kindness and hospitality to me during my trip to Lahore to attend your excellent conference. I’m very glad to have attended and, overall, I think that the audience responded well to the message of my talk.
This theme of business for peace is important to me and perhaps there may be ways of building on the ideas that I tried to express specifically with Pakistan. It has long been a belief of mind that ordinary people and those of us in academia in particular, can have a role in helping to resolve conflicts and bring stability.
In any case, I want to thank you for showing me a side of Pakistan that I hadn’t previously seen.
I too hope that 2012 will be an outstanding year for you and your colleagues as well as the people of Pakistan generally.

|Dear Dr Abassi,|
A Happy New Year to all at COMSATS. Genuinely, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and thank you greatly for your organization and hospitality. It was an excellent conference and a terrific reflection upon COMSATS generally and the Lahore campus management team in particular. It was an honor to be invited to be co-chair. Please keep me informed about the next conference in the series as I would certainly like to participate again. As I suggested when in Lahore, we need to create a number of initiatives to facilitate research collaboration and this is one of many than can make such a contribution.
I look forward to seeing you again soon.
